R3 has announced that its distributed ledger technology (DLT) solution ‘Corda’ is now available to the users of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Corda has become of the first DLT solutions on the AWS marketplace. With this, AWS users would be able to develop and deploy applications, or CorDapps, for finance and commerce on R3’s Corda. The enterprise-grade DLT solution removes costly friction in business transactions by enabling direct transactions using smart contracts, while ensuring high levels of privacy and security.
“Corda’s strength comes from its vibrant ecosystem of interoperable applications, and extending the pool of potential developers to the vast network of Amazon Web Services users will spark further innovation amongst businesses building innovative DLT apps for finance and commerce,” David E. Rutter, CEO of R3, said.
In November 2016, R3 made the platform open source, granting the global developer community universal access to its source code and launched version 2.0 last month. With this latest version, CorDapp developers on AWS can build on Corda v2.0 with the assurance that their work will remain unaffected even if changes are made to the platform.
The network of companies working with R3 to develop CorDapps has grown to over 60. The R3-led blockchain consortium now counts over 100 banks, financial institutions, regulators, trade associations, professional services firms and technology companies among its members.
