R3’s Corda Partner Network sees active involvement of over 60 companies

Enterprise software firm R3 has announced that the network of partners developing distributed ledger technology (DLT) based applications on its Corda – an open source, blockchain-inspired DLT platform – has grown to over 60 companies.

Using smart contracts, Corda removes costly friction in business transactions, while ensuring the highest levels of privacy and security. Last month, R3 launched version 1.0 of Corda DLT platform.

The Corda partner network consists of companies that are actively engaged with the Corda platform. This includes technology partners, systems integrators, consulting firms, and software vendors. Some of the prominent companies in the partner network include Microsoft, EY, Intel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Bolero, and NTT Data.

“Our partners are working with us in a number of ways: with some such as Microsoft, Intel and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Corda is being integrated with their technology; some are building end-user applications on Corda, such as Calypso, Finastra, SIA and TradeIX; others are delivering custom-built solutions for clients on Corda and some are advising their clients on the business potential of the platform. As an open and inclusive platform, Corda’s common protocol ensures seamless interoperability between all these applications and services, just as our clients demand,” Todd McDonald, chief operating officer, R3, wrote in an online post.

In its official release, R3 said that partners are growing their businesses by building and operating DLT applications and offering professional services engagements on Corda. The platform provides a frictionless environment for commercial transactions and a unique approach to data privacy and interoperability.

“We recognised early on the potential for our partners to generate revenue by contributing to a vibrant ecosystem of interoperable distributed ledger applications. Our open, collaborative community gives companies complete freedom to develop innovative solutions to their customers’ specific challenges. We are delighted with the demand we have seen from companies in different industries and regions to profit while working together with R3 to make Corda the leading peer-to-peer platform for global commerce,” David E. Rutter, CEO of R3, said.

In addition to its Corda partners, R3 counts more than 100 banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, regulators, trade associations and technology companies as members.
