Purse reveals 'Instant' Amazon Shopping

Purse has recently announced the launch of 'Instant', a new service that seeks to expand the reach of its existing e-commerce offerings without any change in its focus on Amazon shopping.

Within just a year of its launch, the company reportedly has 32,000 users on its traditional 'Name Your Discount' marketplace, which matches customers seeking to buy bitcoin with a credit card and users looking to sell bitcoin in exchange for savings on Amazon purchases.

Purse co-founder Andrew Lee said that the new product finds the company taking up an active role on the formerly peer-to-peer (P2P) platform, where it purchases Amazon gift cards from its market and maintains a reserve of these assets for individuals who want items more quickly.

"Our model was like Airbnb, person to person. This is like if Airbnb said let's take the 100 most popular locations in San Francisco and just contract them out and offer them to consumers", Lee told CoinDesk.

He added that in exchange for reduced savings, Instant buyers will also get the advantage of free shipping with Amazon Prime.

"In terms of the delivery time, we didn't have much of a guarantee," Lee explained. "Sometimes it would be one-two days, other times it would be two weeks. With Purse Instant we're taking out all those variables."
