NEW YORK, Oct. 02, 2017 -- Progyny, the leading fertility benefits company, today announced that Alan B. Copperman, M.D., FACOG has joined the Company as Medical Director. In his role, Dr. Copperman will work closely with the executive team and medical advisory board to ensure that Progyny’s comprehensive benefits include the latest clinical technologies and best practices to increase treatment success by reducing time to pregnancy, reducing miscarriage rates and decreasing rate of multiples (twins). Dr. Copperman will also provide clinical oversight of other key functions within Progyny, including network credentialing and working closely with the Company’s Patient Care Advocate team to further develop its high-quality, concierge patient experience.

Dr. Copperman is the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as well as the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Additionally, Dr. Copperman is a Co-Founder of RMA of New York, and serves as the IVF Program’s Managing Director. As an experienced and respected clinician, Dr. Copperman has published numerous manuscripts and book chapters on reproductive medicine, and has co-authored hundreds of scientific abstracts on infertility, in vitro fertilization, egg freezing, ovum donation and genetics. Dr. Copperman is frequently quoted in print and digital media and is featured on local and nationally-televised news shows. Dr. Copperman has been named to New York magazine’s list of Best Doctors sixteen years in a row, and Castle Connolly and SuperDocs have annually recognized Dr. Copperman as one of the top fertility doctors. Dr. Copperman is board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility as well as in obstetrics and gynecology, and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
