Fans will be happy to know that the team behind the “Prison Break” season 6 is back to work and production is currently in progress. The status of the drama was personally confirmed by Michael Thorn, FOX Network’s entertainment division president. He announced the renewal during the Television Critics Association winter press tour event.
“We are developing a new iteration of Prison Break,” Variety quoted the entertainment division CEO as saying. “It’s in very early stages of development, but we’re really excited about it.”
Then again, he did not provide any other detail that is worth taking note of apart from the additional update of confirmation that lead stars Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are returning to reprise their roles as Lincoln Burros and Michael Scoffield.
Purcell did not miss the chance to give his own update with regards to “Prison Break” season 6 return. On his Instagram, he revealed that they will be coming back and he is preparing. Ahead of FOX’s announcement, the actor is actually the first to break the news to the fans that they received the go signal to continue to the sixth installment.
On Feb. 9, he wrote on social media, “It (Prison Break) is in development that’s all I got for you.” He added the hashtag “#chill” because he knows that fans have been waiting for this sequel for a long time already.
Now, the actor once again took to social media to inform those who are waiting for “Prison Break” season 6 about the progress of the drama’s production.
In any case, Digital Spy noted that “Prison Break” season 6 will be very different from the previous seasons. It will offer a new format and a time jump could be involved in the plot line to complete the story.
“Prison Break” season 6 has no airdate yet since it is still in production until now. Plus, it was recently revealed that actual filming may also begin soon when all the cast have arranged schedules that are agreeable for everyone.
