“World of Warcraft” is still alive and kicking, and the next expansion that is coming soon is sure to bring those user numbers up as effectively as similar seasons have done in the past. The expansion in question is called “Legion” and in order to make sure that the players will be in the best condition to take on the hordes of enemies that are waiting for them, “Blizzard” is releasing a patch that’s meant to allow players to get used to the new settings.
As Gamespot explains, the patch will be changing a lot of the mechanics and areas of the game. Among these changes includes changing the appearance of items, adding specialization adjustments, and changes to item types and specs.
In terms of graphics, “WOW” will be getting some love in the department of textures and draw distance as well. For players who like seeing the world of “Azeroth” from afar, they will get to see a lot more of it once the update kicks in. Settings for the graphics will get three tiers above Ultra as well, though it’s fair to assume that the difference won’t be all that dramatic when compared to current AAA titles.
There is a cautionary part to the patch, however, regarding the quest “Legendary Ring.” Apparently, players who haven’t started this quest won’t be able to once the game is updated. For those who have already started, they can still finish the quest, at least until “Legion” arrives.
Just to make things easier for players to adjust to the changes, “Blizzard” was kind enough to provide a pre-expansion patch survival guide, which contains a lot of information that are pertinent to the update.
As a reminder, “Legion” will be released on Aug. 30, when demons invade Azeroth once again. Demon hunter classes will then be available and are up for pre-order.
