“Power” season 6 is back, and it opened with the story titled “Murderer.” It picked up from the fifth installment’s finale where Angela was shot by Tommy while she’s protecting Ghost.
The next scenes were revealed in “Power” season 6 episode 1 and it was quite heartbreaking as it showed something unexpected. As per TV Guide, the synopsis for the premiere reads,
“Ghost seeks vengeance due to the ill will of Tommy Egan and Tasha vows to get even with Ghost for the murder of Terry Silver. Tariq and Tommy mourn an old friend while the AUSA's office is under new leadership.”
The opening of the series finale
“Power” season 6 episode 1 showed the moment when Angela was wheeled to the ambulance and brought to the hospital. At this point, Ghost was sort of hysterical, and he doesn’t know what to do.
Ghost was naturally asked what happened on the scene since he was with Angela when she was shot. He was able to dodge many questions and honestly told them that he did not see who shot her bit the investigators seems suspicious. Paz, Angela’s sister, arrived, and she was screaming at him and calling him a murderer.
Tommy seeks Tasha’s help
The shooter, Tommy, was frantic and he wants Tasha to help him. He told her that he needs an alibi and asked her to give him one so he will not be implicated in Angela’s shooting incident. Tasha is also upset and told Tommy he needs to fix things with Ghost first before she can make up an alibi for his whereabouts at the time of the shooting.
Angela’s fate finally uncovered
While it was previously reported that Angela survived, “Power” season 6 episode 1 showed that she died which was shocking for the viewers. Her death is confirmed as her sister, and the Feds already checked her lifeless body at the morgue, and showrunner Courtney Kemp explained why this happened when she said that Angela did not die when she was interviewed after season 5’s final episode.
“OK, so a couple of things happened, Kemp told TV Line. “Angela had all the information, and whenever a character has all the information on our show, we usually kill them. Greg was very close to having all the information. People tend to run into the wall when they know too much.”
The showrunner added that there was truth in her earlier statements that Angela lived because the viewers still saw her alive in the first few minutes in “Power” season 6 episode 1. It is just that they need to kill her off because since meeting Ghost, she was doomed to die for getting too much involved.
“Power” Season 6 airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. n Starz.
