The second part of “Power Book II: Ghost” has yet to be released by Starz. The drama was forced to have a mid-season break since filming was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, it was reported that the “Power Book II: Ghost” part 2 may have been canceled altogether. Fans are originally waiting for episode 6 to arrive this December but it was rumored that this may not be happening.
Cancellation rumors of part 2
Express reported that Starz has yet to confirm when the production of the remaining “Power Book II: Ghost” episodes would be. There is no word yet because of the COVID-19 and with the forced delay or stoppage of filming, it was said that the drama may have been canceled.
But fortunately, the cancellation rumors are not true because there are many indications that point to the fact that it will be returning to fully finish Tariq and Tasha’s story.
“We know that there are five episodes back, and because of timing, we know that the show’s probably going to run straight through to the new year,” the publication quoted a source as saying. “Our hope right now is that the series will be back on Sunday, December 6, though that has not been 100% confirmed as of yet.”
Also, with the way “Power Book II: Ghost” episode 5 ended, there is surely a continuation. The story is just heating up and it definitely needs to have a proper ending.
Spoilers - What to expect
In the last episode, fans saw how Davis Maclean (Method Man) and Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) conspired against Tariq. They are planning to bring him down by exposing the truth that he was the one show shot Ghost, his own father.
In an interesting plot development, the college lad just teamed up with Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) so he now has strong backing. Meanwhile, showrunner Courtney Kemp also dropped big hints on what to expect in “Power Book II: Ghost” episode 6 and beyond.
“We always do a big shift, and this season I thought it was very interesting to have that pivot be around when Tariq turned 18,” Kemp told Entertainment Weekly. She further explained that this is because the boy is now an adult based on the law and this simple fact changes everything for him.
Finally, “Power Book II: Ghost” part 2 has no release date yet as of this time.
