Xiaomi is remaining mum about its plans about the Pocophone F2 despite its predecessor celebrating its first year this coming September. However, it’s expected that the Beijing-based company will break its silence soon, perhaps as early as next month.
With rumors going around that the Pocophone F2 and the Redmi K20 are just the same devices, this speculation does have some veracity to it. The latter is already out in China and is poised to be introduced to the international market on July 15, Gadgets 360 reported.
Regarding the Redmi K20 being the same handset as the Pocophone F2, there’s also some truth to this as well. The reason behind such speculation is that the Redmi K20 addressed all the necessary improvement that the Pocophone F1 is lacking.
What’s more, it’s also another flagship killer that is sporting specs beyond the price point that it’s asking. It has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display running on the Snapdragon 855 chip with an Adreno 640 GPU and a 6/8 GB worth of RAM depending on the model. A triple-camera setup, fast-charging capabilities; a cooling system for mobile gaming, and a headphone jack has also been outfitted for the device. And similar to the Pocophone F2’s predecessor, its price is ridiculously low for the abovementioned specs, Business Times reported.
The base model will likely fall around $360, while the Pro variant is expected to land on $460. It goes without saying that the Redmi K20 will be this year’s mid-range king. That’s doubly true if the rumor that it’s the Pocophone F2 proves to be accurate. With the Pocophone F1 setting the stage for its arrival, this one is a no brainer for anyone who’s been monitoring the mid-range market. Hopefully, we get confirmation from Xiaomi soon so that all these speculations will be cleared up.
