'Outlander' Season 8 Release Date, Spoilers and Cast: Everything We Know So Far

Now that Season 7 is ongoing, fans are anticipating the series last installment. Things have come far along and become more intriguing in the seventh season, so viewers are already looking forward to "Outlander" Season 8.

'Outlander' Season 8 Release Date

Cosmopolitan reported that "Outlander" Season 8 will arrive sometime in 2025. The popular series was renewed in January for its eighth and final installment.

"Outlander" Season 8 must be shot as soon as possible in 2024. Because the WGA is now on strike, the preparation of the final season could take longer than expected, pushing the release date to 2026. However, the possibilities of that happening are significantly fewer; therefore, supporters should expect the final season to be in 2025.

'Outlander' Season 8 Spoilers

This is when things become murky as no official plot details are released for "Outlander" Season 8 as of this writing. Season 7 is not finished yet, and it's going to be a mega-season with 16 episodes, so a lot of things can happen in that time, per Early Game.

Also, it remains unclear as to what books will Season 7 cover. While it will undoubtedly use the seventh book, we have no idea if the extra episodes will be included in the eighth.

The ninth novel of the book series was released in 2021, so there are some potential spoilers for "Outlander" Season 8 to look forward to. Without giving too much away, tensions are rising, the Revolutionary War is growing closer to Fraser's Ridge, and Claire and Jamie are preparing to do their part. Since the tenth book still isn't out, how it all ultimately ends is anyone's guess.

'Outlander' Season 8 Cast

The imminent "Outlander" Season 8 is expected to include the return of leading actor Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe to bring Jamie and Claire's love story to an epic conclusion.

César Domboy as Fergus Fraser, Virgil's Lauren Lyle as Marsali Fraser, John Bell as Young Ian Fraser, Kristin Atherton as Jenny Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Hunter are also anticipated to return for "Outlander" Season 8.
