‘Outlander’ Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers: Sam Heughan Spills Serious Details

“Outlander” season 4 will premiere later this year, and before that day arrives, Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) just exposed some major spoilers. The actor teased fans as to what they can expect when the time-traveling Starz drama premieres for its fourth season.

On July 30, Sam Heughan made a live appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” as a guest. The episode was special because “Witches of East End” star Jenna Dewan sat in for Kelly to ask the questions. As most people already know, the actress is a big “Outlander” fan so she really fired away queries that other regular fans would like to know.

Cast – New and Old

Jenna’s questions eventually led Sam Heughan to reveal some significant “Outlander” season 5 spoilers and it surely made the actress very happy. During the show, Sam was asked if he could share a bit of spoiler or any hints, and the first thing he mentioned was that there will be many characters from the past who will come back.

Brianna Randall will return, and based on the newest “Outlander” season 5 trailer, Aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers) are in as well. Lastly, there is a chance that Richard Rankin (Roger Wakefield MacKenzie) will also be part of the new season.

Drama Setting

Sam Heughan further mentioned that the setting for “Outlander” season 5 is America in the period of infancy – a time before the Revolutionary War.

“It’s an incredible new season, we’re in America, America is in its infancy, the creation of America,” he said in the interview.

Other Spoilers

“Outlander” season 5's first full-length trailer was released on July 30 and it shows many interesting scenes. One part that gained lots of attention was the young man sitting with Jamie Fraser in one scene. Fans commented that it’s William, Jamie’s long-lost son. If the guesses are correct, this father-and-son reunion plot twist would cause major changes in the story.

Air Date

Filming for “Outlander” season 5 is not complete and although Starz confirmed that it will be out in November, no specific day has been revealed yet.
