The second season run of “One Punch Man” has concluded and, despite some criticisms to its animations, fans are still very much hoping to see another installment. On the bright side, “One Punch Man” season 3 is most likely confirmed at this point, but decisions about its studio and release date are still under wraps.
“One Punch Man” season 3 production details: What to expect
It was hard for many fans not to distinguish the differences in the production styles of Madhouse and J.C.Staff which produced “One Punch Man” season 1 and 2, respectively. Nevertheless, the series was still supported by many viewers around the world and the demand for “One Punch Man” season 3 is still present.
Shortly after the season 2 finale aired, the official “One Punch Man” anime Twitter page posted something that might have confirmed that “One Punch Man” season 3 is in the pipeline. The producers wrote that the second season might be over, but the series is not along with the promise of delivering the anime series again.

Going through the replies of fans in the said tweet, it is not difficult to see that most viewers have the same sentiment. They want season 1 director Shingo Natsume to return and work on “One Punch Man” season 3. Others also commented that the next season should be produced by a different studio as long as it is not J.C.Staff.
The production change for season 2 was announced back in fall 2017. Back then it was quite controversial, and the fans’ opinions about it did not seem to change all throughout the airing of season 2. These big changes, however, are believed to be the reason why season 2 took so long to be released. So if another major studio move is to be made for “One Punch Man” season 3, it might affect its release date once again.

It is quite hard to estimate when “One Punch Man” season 3 is going to be released since the gap between season 1 and 2 was most likely affected by the move from Madhouse to J.C.Staff. However, there are speculations that the break will not be as long as before and that the anime series might be back next year. Some even suggest that the third season will air on May 12, 2020, but this detail has not been confirmed yet.
