A one-week hiatus was confirmed following the release of chapter 954. It is then expected that “One Piece” chapter 955 will be out this coming Sunday. However, several official sources confirmed that the next chapter will be released at an earlier schedule.

Viz shows that the next chapter will be released on Friday, Sept. 13 for fans in Japan. Effectively, “One Piece” chapter 955 will be available to fans outside Japan through other platforms such as Manga Plus on early Saturday, Sept. 14. In that case, raw scans could be leaked anytime this week, too.

The alliance of Big Mom and Kaido opens so many possibilities in the upcoming chapters. Chapter 954 features the preparations for the Fire Festival or the night when Luffy and his allies plan to attack Onigashima where Kaido resides. As the festival draws near, more characters linked to Kaido have appeared, and it would not be surprising if more familiar faces appear in “One Piece” chapter 955.

Kaido and Big Mom’s alliance should also attract the attention of other characters may it be a friend or a foe to the Yonkos. One of the interesting plot predictions for “One Piece” chapter 955 is the supposed arrival of Marines in Wano. Since Kaido and Big Mom control some of the most notorious pirate crews, their alliance is something that the World Government is unlikely to ignore.
