Now that the fight between Katakuri and Luffy has ended, and Big Mom has been fed with the cake that she has been rampaging for, it’s time for the Straw Hats to escape. This is not going to be easy, though, since the yonko’s subordinates are not willing to just let them go. This is why Pekoms will transform as Carrot did in “One Piece” Episode 872, so that Luffy and his friends could live to fight another day.
A lot of things happened in the previous episode of the anime, with Katakuri’s defeat at the hands of Luffy being just one of them. Big Mom’s pirates have prepared a blockade to prevent the Straw Hats from escaping, TheAnimeScrolls reports. With the sizeable force, not even the slippery characters can easily get away. This is the main challenge in “One Piece” Episode 872.
When fans last saw Luffy, he was with Pekom and they were trying to escape with the unconscious captain being exhausted from his fight. This will make giving the Sweets pirates the slip quite difficult, so the furry character will have no choice but to sacrifice himself. This is why he will need to transform into Sulong mode in “One Piece” Episode 872.
On that note, there will still be plenty of challenges waiting for the Straw Hats in “One Piece” Episode 872 once Luffy is finally aboard the Sunny. Fortunately, they will still have some friends coming from the depths, with Jinbei’s old crew coming to the rescue. This will then allow them to finally make a break for it.
Fans will hopefully see the conclusion of the whole Cake Island arc in “One Piece” Episode 872 when it airs. That would be on Feb. 10, so it’s a few more days worth of wait before the anime finally moves to the Wano arc.
