There have been a lot of twists and turns going on in this entire Cake Island arc, with enemies suddenly becoming friends and friends turning on each other to become enemies. In the case of Luffy and Katakuri, it would seem that the Straw Hats captain has found an unexpected connection with his opponent. In “One Piece” Episode 867, the Sweets commander will even sacrifice something for Luffy.
The air date for “One Piece” Episode 867 has been delayed and instead of coming out last week, it will hit the small screen next week. As for what fans can expect from it, the title should be quite telling, which reads “Lurking in the Darkness, An Assassin Targeting Luffy.” As the clip below shows, the headline refers to Flampe who will attack Luffy with her blow dart.
For some context, Flampe has an attack called “Silent Needle,” which basically means that she can hit anyone without them being aware of it. The preview video above shows how effective such a treacherous move can be, especially when inflicted on someone in the middle of a fight. However, her interference in “One Piece” Episode 867 will not go the way she expects.
Instead of receiving the praise that she was hoping for from Katakuri in “One Piece” Episode 867, the Sweets Commander will instead reprimand her. In the process, he will take off his scarf and show everyone what he looks like right after he injures himself. This causes Flampe to make fun of him and for Luffy to respond to Katakuri’s sacrifice by knocking her and her friends out with his haki.
For those who are wondering, “One Piece” Episode 867 will be coming out on Jan. 6. The fight between Luffy and Katakuri will likely not end with that episode, but it should prove entertaining, nevertheless.
