“One Piece” Chapter 923 has yet to be released, but spoilers for the upcoming installment are coming out. Among the details spreading through the web is how Luffy gets absolutely destroyed by Kaido in a straight up fight. Questions with regards to O-Tama’s fate have also surfaced along with those about the Straw Hat alliance with the samurais.
In its coverage of the raw scans and spoilers for “One Piece” Chapter 923, GameNGuides notes a few details that fans might want to avoid for now. They concern developments that will only give them anxiety until they can read the chapter in full, as intended by the author. Those who don’t mind getting spoiled, however, will learn that Luffy’s fight with Kaido ended exactly as everyone predicted.
Although the aspiring pirate king will manage to bring the pirate emperor down with his Elephant Gun punch in “One Piece” Chapter 923, this was only supposed to help his friends get away. On his way to check on the state of those who were at Oden Castle, however, Luffy will come across Speed. It would appear that while escorting O-Tama home, they bumped into Kaido, and she was defeated easily.
The fate of O-Tama is still unclear, but this is “One Piece,” so she might still be alive. Luffy, on the other hand, will not be so lucky. After hearing about what happened with O-Tama, he will challenge Kaido to a duel. As Inquistr reports, “One Piece” Chapter 923 will see the Straw Hats captain hitting the pirate emperor with his strongest attacks without resistance.
Even after throwing a barrage of punches that would have destroyed anyone else, Kaido simply shrugged off Luffy’s offensive attacks. He then counters with his own club and essentially one-hit kills the stretchy protagonist before laughing at his ambitions to be pirate king. Is this the end for Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates’ alliance? “One Piece” Chapter 923 should answer that when it releases on Nov. 2.
