Nigerian startup VoguePay wins ‘Best Fintech Startup’ during Cashless Africa Award 2017

VoguePay, a Nigerian secure payment processor, has won the award as the ‘Best Fintech Startup’ during the 6th Cashless Africa Award 2017, which is an event together with Mobile Money Africa.

The event took place on 25th March 2017, at Victoria Island Lagos that saw stakeholders in the digital finance industry across Africa and globally, the release said. This was a special recognition to VoguePay as a result of its contribution to online payment in Nigeria and Africa in general.

“The awards honor organizations that have made significant contributions to the digital financial services sector and are poised to make considerable market impact in the future. The Awards are dedicated to acknowledging creativity, commitment, and excellence in the digital financial services across Africa,” Emmanuel Okoegwale, principal associate of Mobile Money Africa, stated.

Founded in 2012, VoguePay aims to make online, cross-currency payments as well as transactions, in a cheaper, safer and more accessible manner for businesses and traders in Africa and across the globe. VoguePay is planning to expand its services to other African countries, with offices in Nigeria, Lagos, and the UK.

Wole Ogunlade, head of digital media and strategy at VoguePay noted that the fintech award is well deserved since VoguePay’s innovative solutions as a payment bridge that connects Africa with the rest of the world.

Cashless Africa Award 2017 is a part of CashlessAfrica expo that celebrated innovative fintech solutions across 15 categories honoring individuals and corporate. Diamond Bank, TransferTo and WorldRemit, are few other recipients of various awards across Africa.
