Leave it to Ellen DeGeneres to confirm celebrity rumors.
The host generated quite a response from rapper Nicki Minaj when the former tried to confirm if the 34 year-old is dating fellow rapper Nas, USA Today noted. On the May 23 episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” DeGeneres expertly navigated her conversation with Minaj from blatantly asking her if her chest got a sign of approval from Nas to showing an are-they-or-aren’t-they snap of her cozily leaning to Nas at a restaurant Minaj earlier shared on Instagram.
Minaj appeared to have been caught by surprise at DeGeneres’ line of questioning, even blushing to bursting into laughter several times. She initially answered, "He's so dope...he's such a king. Shout out to Queens, New York, we're both from Queens. He's the king of Queens, and I'd like to think I'm the queen of Queens. He's a rap legend, and I have a lot of respect for that. And he's kinda cute too."
DeGeneres pushed further and asked if they had “sleepovers,” US Weekly said. Minaj shared with a laugh, "We have. I go to him. I just thought him coming to me was too forward."
However, she did clarify that they have not done “the deed” yet, adding, "I'm celibate. I wanted to go a year without dating any man — I hate men. But I might make an exception to the rule for him because he’s so dope.”
Minaj’s answers followed after another rumor suggesting that she has gotten back with Young Money labelmate and supposed former fling Drake. Drake, who has a public spat with Minaj’s ex, rapper Meek Mills, acknowledged that he had made amends with his labelmate at the Billboard Music Awards, saying, “I want to say, Nicki Minaj, I’m so glad we found our way back because I love you and I could never ever ever see it any other way.”
