‘Naruto To Boruto: Shinobi Striker’ Latest News: Jiraiya Introduced as First DLC Character

“Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker” is getting its first DLC character and it’s no other than the Frog Hermit Jiraiya. Bandai Namco Entertainment America made the announcement with a preview trailer showing off Jiraiya’s skill set on Wednesday.

“One of the Hidden Leaf Village’s most powerful ninjas, Jiraiya brings some of his most powerful signature moves to the battle. Bring Down the House Jutsu calls upon a gigantic frog from the sky, which inflicts damage across a large area and knocks back opponents. Another move, Ninja Art: Needle Jizo, sees Jiraiya harden his hair to create needle armour. This skill can be used for both defense and offense as it negates incoming attacks and inflicts damage in return,” the description from the official press release reads, via GearNuke.

The defense-type Jiraiya will be available for free for all players, but those who purchased the Season Pass (about $30) or the “Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker” DLC1 ($3.99) will unlock him as a Master Character, giving them access to use him as their in-game avatars. The DLC also includes exclusive costume outfits, weapon accessories, and more.

Aside from Jiraiya, datamining work on the Season Pass also revealed that Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, Minato, Tsunade, Orochimaru, Obito, Madara, Sasori, Shino, Kiba, and Ino might join the list of DLC characters as well in the coming months.

Meanwhile, “Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker” has been out for over a month now. Letting players go head-to-head in four versus four battles, with all of them fighting simultaneously, seems like a good idea but the reception from Naruto fans has been mixed so far with many complaints about bugs in the game.

“Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker” is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game takes place during Naruto’s reign as the Seventh Hokage while Konoha is hosting the Chunin Exams.
