Fans of the Monster Hunter franchise and those eagerly anticipating the release of Monster Hunter World have another reason to celebrate. The game’s director recently stated that the title’s campaign is going to be long. Around 40 to 50 hours long, in fact. After that, there’s going to be more grinding, hunting, and more monsters will be added along the way.
Yuya Tokuda revealed this detail to Mein-MMO.de recently, along with hints at the post-game content that players can expect. The director did say that a lot of this would depend on the player, with speed runners likely able to finish the game much faster than completionists. Even so, after the main campaign is done, players can expect to be able to do more things in the game.
“Depending on the type of player, I suppose it will take about 40 to 50 hours to clear the story,” Okuda said. “But it wouldn’t be a Monster Hunter title if there wasn’t content to enjoy post-game. Players can continue to forge and upgrade their favorite weapons and armor after the story is over.”
Aside from the main content of the game, there will also be some weekly events that players can participate in, Destructoid reports. This is just part of the usual package that Monster Hunter games come with, however, which is one of the main reasons why fans love the series so much.
Monster Hunter World is scheduled for launch on January 26, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. The game is also set for release on PC, but there is currently no date as to when it will become available in the ecosystem. Many gamers don’t appear to have any issue with the delay, however, with most saying that they prefer to get a finished game with good optimization.
