Mister Donut Japan is bringing back a favorite food item as the autumn season is officially here. Since the season has already changed and it is now fall season in the land of the rising sun, roasted sweet potatoes have started to crop up again in food stalls around the country, and people are excited since this is one of the seasonal favorites.
Mister Donut just released its sweet potato donuts once again for this season, and this surely delighted the store’s customers. The arrival of this menu item just satisfies the sweet potato cravings of the Japanese donut lover.
As per SoraNews24, the American donut brand has also sweetened its offerings by adding a few versions of sweet potato donuts. The lineup has five options including the original favorite flavors.
One of the newest sweet potato donut flavors has been named Satsuma Imo Yaki Mitsu Imo, and it costs ¥150 or around $1.11. This donut looks like a roasted sweet potato with its skin still on, and this look was achieved due to the purple glaze.
The inside is also golden brown to resemble the crop’s sweet flesh. The overall taste will not disappoint as customers will be able to taste the delectable sweet potato flavor that everyone is craving.
The other new flavor is called the Satsuma Imo Mitsu Imo Brulee which is being sold for ¥160. This has been described as sweet potato-flavored creme brulee, and the only difference is that it can be eaten using the hand.
Just like the regular creme brulee, its outer layer is crispy while the inside is very soft and moist since its center has been soaked with syrup. With the caramelized sugar on top, there is surely a crunch in every bite.
The other three sweet potato donuts are just making their comeback for the 2022 autumn season at Mister Donut stores. These are the Satsuma Imo Mitsu Imo which cost ¥140, the Satsuma Imo Daigaku Imo which is also ¥140 yen, and the Satsumo Imo Sweet Potato which can be bought for ¥150. Finally, Grapee Japan reported that Mister Donut is offering these autumn treats across Japan until late November only.
