Miranda Lambert and Dolly Parton collaborated for the remake of the latter’s 1967 track called “Dumb Blonde.” The song has been released as part of the “Dumplin” movie soundtrack that stars Jennifer Aniston and Danielle Macdonald. While the American singer and actress is not part of the tribute film for her, her voice would be heard through the soundtrack so her energy is still felt.

As its title suggests, the song that Dolly Parton is re-recording with Miranda Lambert is about never underestimating women especially if they are blondes. The song was composed to counter the popular saying that blonde women are dumb.

Rolling Stone notes that Miranda Lambert – Dolly Parton duet song was written by Curly Putman and was originally included in the latter’s debut album titled “Hello, I’m Dolly.” The song was the title track and the album was released in 1967 via Monument Records.

Aside from Miranda Lambert, the “Dumplin” soundtrack that was released on Nov. 30 will also feature other guest singers like Mavis Staples, Elle King, and Sia. The three mentioned artists also teamed up with Dolly Parton for the remake of her other classic songs.

The movie premiered on Dec. 7 via Netflix and it tells the story of Willodean Dixon (Danielle Macdonald), a chubby teen who joined her town’s beauty pageant. Her mother (Jennifer Aniston) was also a former beauty queen in their native Texas town.

Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert is still enjoying the success of an album that she released with her group Pistol Annies. Their record titled “Interstate Gospel” album was hit mainly due to the controversial songs that it contained.

Many people think that Miranda Lambert wrote the songs and they are directed at Blake Shelton. Titles like “Got My Name Change Back,” "When I Was His Wife" and "This Too Shall Pass" was said to be referring to Gwen Stefani’s boyfriend though his name was not mentioned.
