'Minecraft' Aquatic Update Latest News: Phase 2 Brings ‘Realms’ to Nintendo Switch; Check Out Newly Added Sea Creatures

Developer Mojang released Phase Two of the “Minecraft” Aquatic update earlier this week. As expected, it brought new sea creatures that players will be interacting with. It also brought patches that will add Realms options for Nintendo Switch players.

When the previous versions of the “Minecraft” Aquatic update were launched, the option to create Realms in this particular gameplay was off-limits to the Switch console. Luckily, Mojang addressed that through the Phase Two patch on Tuesday.

To those just beginning their “Minecraft” game, Realms are practically custom servers that players can create. However, this service requires real-life payment. Using Realms can be worth it to some players, though. With the “Minecraft” Aquatic update, Switch players can now tweak the game modes or maps they will use.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated features in the “Minecraft” Aquatic update Phase Two are certainly the new sea creatures. Mojang confirmed in the release notes that they have added the characters called The Drowned. They obviously pose threats to players as Mojang described them as “dangerous, underwater zombies lurk in dark, deep water and will come up to the shore at night.”

To maintain balance in the world of the “Minecraft” Aquatic update, Mojang also introduced “gentle creatures,” namely the Sea Turtles. In fact, players are encouraged to help Sea Turtles in protecting their eggs until they hatch new offsprings. Sea Turtles can be frequently seen swimming in the ocean or just having a tanning session at the beach.

“Minecraft” Aquatic update’s second phase also brings more items that can be used to craft potions or power boosts. Players really need to hatch as many Sea Turtles as they can. Baby turtles produce new items called Scutes, which can be used to make Turtle Shells. The latter can then be used as a protective gear that gives players the Water Breathing boost.

Other new items added this week are the Nautilus Shells, which players can find when they are fishing, but sometimes a Drowned creature can be holding it as well. Nautilus Shells then produce Conduits, which give out the Conduit Power that may prevent players from drowning and can increase mining speed.
