“Mindhunter” season 2 has been confirmed to be returning on air. There were reports that one of its memorable characters, Edmund Kemper played by Cameron Britton, is coming back to reprise his role as a disturbed serial killer.

The speculations that he will be on “Mindhunter” season 2 arose when in his interview with TV Guide, he mentioned some possible scenarios in the upcoming new installment. Although he said that he is not sure if Ed Kemper will still appear in the second season, avid viewers believe he will since he had shown a spectacular performance in the first season. Plus, his character is still relevant to the story as the show is all about the famous killers after all.

"I have absolutely no idea whether or not I am in it," the actor told TV Guide when asked if he will be on “Mindhunter” season 2 and explained that “it is because there are so many serial killers that the guys at the FBI have to interview.”

The plot for “Mindhunter” season 2 has been revealed to tell the story of the cult leader Charles Manson. It will show a few FBI detectives meeting the notorious murderer. As everyone already knows, Manson and his followers killed at least 10 people in four places in July and August 1969.

He was also found guilty for the first-degree murder of two other people. In 2017, the cult leader passed away in jail at the age of 83.

Moreover, Billboard interviewed show creator David Fincher in 2017 and he divulged that the murder of children in Atlanta that took place from 1979 to 1981 will also be featured in “Mindhunter” season 2. The drama will cover the killing of 28 African-American individuals that were mostly children, teens, and adults. In this sordid crime, Wayne Williams was convicted but just for the two murders.

“Next year we’re looking at the Atlanta child murders so we’ll have a lot more African-American music which will be nice,” Fincher said. “The music will evolve. It’s intended to support what’s happening with the show and for the show to evolve radically between seasons.”

“Mindhunter” season 2 has no air date yet but the drama is predicted to be released sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
