Migrant arrivals fail to dent strong German employment scenario

Opponent politicians to Chancellor Merkel has hoped that economic data, especially unemployment rate would provide some evidence in 2015, that arrivals of migrants leading to slowdown in Job growth. However to their dismay, in December, German economic growth engine not only expanded, with manufacturing PMI coming at 53.3 at par with over Euro zone growth, employment rose by higher than expected.

Economists were expecting job addition of 8000 in December but economy added 14,000 jobs. However, in 2016, there could be signs of slowdown in employment of German people as businesses are awaiting to recruit migrants, who would cost much cheaper.

German chancellor Angela Merkel, despite suffering setback in her own party coalition maintained her stance ad called for solidarity among German people and saying arrivals of migrants would be beneficial to German economy in the longer run.

As of now, Germany is enjoying lowest unemployment rate (4.5%, seasonally adjusted) not only in Euro Zone but whole European Union.

However in contrast to that, more than every one in five remains unemployed in Spain and Greece.
