Microsoft Reward Young Boy’s Generosity In Giving Xbox One Money To Charity

In an act of touching generosity, Mikah Frye, 9, used the money that was supposed to buy an Xbox One console to buy supplies for charity instead. The little boy chose to donate the $300, which was used to buy blankets that will be given to the homeless. When Microsoft learned about the selfless act, the tech giant reward Frye with a special Xbox One package that was delivered by a very special person.

One of the first to cover the story of Frye last Saturday was Fox 8, which reported that the young boy was given an Xbox One X with the Minecraft theme and it was presented to him by Santa Claus himself. The console was in two bags of goodies, which a tearful Frye rummaged through with a gleefully delighted face.

As to what prompted the 9-year-old to give away the money that could have got him an Xbox One, in the first place, it was apparently after seeing homeless people who were out in the cold in Ashland County, Ohio. It was then that he decided to buy 60 blankets to give away instead of the gaming console, which he donated to the Ashland Church Community Emergency Shelter Services (ACCESS).

This had a heartwarming touch of giving forward to it since Frye and his family apparently received the same treatment from the shelter three years prior. At the time, the family had fallen on hard times, which led to the loss of their home.

Frye made it clear that he empathized with the homeless people at the shelter as well, Mashable reports. Each of the 60 blankets had a note that read, "They [ACCESS] gave me a blanket, but I had to leave it. That's why I want you to have your own blanket ... Today, I live in my own house, and someday you will too. Your friend Mikah."
