Michael Schumacher may be past his heyday but his adoring fans are not the kind of crowd to forget about his amazing contributions to the world of Formula One racing. Thankfully, the elder Schumacher might not be the only driver to keep the family name in the autosport industry – and potentially Formula One – alive.

Those following Mick Schumacher's career closely already know that Michael Schumacher's son recently had an uptick in performance that immediately put him in the sights of some of the autosport racing industry's biggest names. Michael Schumacher's old technical director, Ross Brawn, recently took an interest in Mick Schumacher's performance by giving the young driver sage advice about his future Formula One career. But it seems Mick Schumacher is not satisfied with just his improved latter season Formula Three performance.

The Formula Three championship season recently came to a close with Mick Schumacher bagging the championship title. Michael Schumacher's son may have only gotten second place during the last race of the season but his overall points gave him the position to take the championship title home. Mick Schumacher's season-closing win comes as a surprise considering his average performance during the early part of the season.

Mick Schumacher celebrated the occasion by posting on Twitter about his heartfelt thanks to his team and teammates for being instrumental to his success and helping him achieve his dream. FIA President and Michael Schumacher's friend Jean Todt posted his congratulations for the younger Schumacher on Twitter.

Mick Schumacher's Formula Three title win now makes him eligible for a Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) 'super licence,' which he will need when he decides to make the jump to Formula One. Fans of Michael Schumacher's son will have to wait and see if the 19-year old German driver will take Ross Brawn's advice and get some time in first in Formula Two before competing in Formula One.
