Prince Harry and Meghan Markel apparently had a recent awkward encounter as the Duke of Sussex reportedly bumped into a rumored ex of his. The person in question is Jenna Coleman, most commonly known for her work in “Doctor Who.”
The brush is said to have occurred during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent trip to the Netherlands, particularly at the launch of Soho House in Amsterdam. Vanity Fair said that the unexpected encounter caused quite a bit of muttering among those who were present, including stars like Eddie Redmayne, Simon Pegg, and Lily Cole.
Prince Harry supposedly blushed after seeing Jenna Coleman amongst the crowd. What’s even more embarrassing was that the Duke and Meghan Markle literally had to pass the table where Jenna was situated before the royal couple could reach their seats.
“[Prince] Harry had to walk straight past Jenna to get to his and Meghan’s table,” a witness told Vanity Fair writer Katie Nicholl. “It was pretty awkward and some of the other guests were commenting on it. Jenna looked down while Harry looked straight ahead, while Meghan [Markle] didn’t seem to notice. She sat through breakfast with a smile on her face, but Harry looked a bit uncomfortable. He’d been super friendly saying hi to everyone, but he didn’t even acknowledge Jenna.”
Jenna Coleman was with her boyfriend and “Victoria” co-star Tom Hughes at the time, with both stars supposedly leaving the breakfast event “shortly after.” The romantic connection between Prince Harry and the “Doctor Who” star is quite vague as the two never officially dated. As the rumors would have it, the Duke allegedly pursued the actress in 2015, a year before he met Meghan Markle.
But that is all in the past now and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now married. More than that, they’re also quite physical with one another, as noted by veteran royal photographer Arthur Edwards.
Edwards said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are quite touchy with one another. The photographer even juxtaposed the couple with Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are quite reserved when it comes to physical contact when they’re out in public.
“I don’t know if it is an American thing and [Meghan Markle] comes from a showbiz life where that is very normal. And Harry is just as tactile,” Edwards said. The photographer added that he relished the sight of the newly minted royal couple being physical with each other, something that is rare among royalties. He added that although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t been married for very long, it seems that their relationship is one that will endure the pressure of modern society.
