Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aren’t expecting any children despite what tabloids are spewing out. In the latest report magazine by Women’s Day Australia (via Gossip Cop), the gossip publication is claiming that the Duchess of Sussex is carrying the new addition to the royal family.
It’s claiming that Meghan Markle is suffering morning sickness and people in the palace are abuzz following this development. However, similar to most stories that the tabloid is publishing, it fails to provide any evidence backing their allegation.
What’s more, if Meghan Markle is indeed pregnant – which she isn’t – the news is going to be announced by a palace’s spokesperson and not by gossip publications. The magazine already published a story last week claiming that the Duchess isn’t just pregnant but is carrying twins.
Now, Women’s Day Australia is saying that Meghan Markle is carrying a prince. The publication can’t even stick to one storyline for their false narrative, which makes it easy for readers to spot the bogus claims.
Additionally, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be traveling to Tonga and Fiji, areas that are labeled by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention as places pregnant women shouldn’t travel to. The precaution is due to the fact that travelers might come in contact with the Zika virus, a disease that increases the chances of hydrocephaly in infants when the mothers are bitten by mosquitoes infected by it while pregnant.
And speaking of having children, palace protocols dictate that should Prince Harry and Meghan Markle produce an offspring, they will not have legal custody of them. That right has been given to Queen Elizabeth, with the law dating to as far back as 300 years ago.
According to royal expert Marlene Koenig, the law was first implemented in 1717 by King George I, which he did because he had a poor relationship with his son. And even when Queen Elizabeth finally passes away, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will still not have custody over their children as that right will then be passed down to Prince Charles, who would be king.
Of course, Meghan Markle hasn’t spoken anything about her opinion about this law but has likely breached the topic with Prince Harry already. But it’s likely she isn’t overly worried as Koenig said the palace isn’t putting much weight on the law nowadays and is letting the royals raised their children accordingly.
