McAfee Corp unveils its AI-based McAfee Scam Protection, a response to the surge in AI-aided cyber scams, aiming to detect and block deceptive cyber threats proactively.
Phishing scams, which continue to be the top cybersecurity threat globally, are being created at an alarming rate, with a new phishing site emerging every 11 seconds. Text scams alone caused Americans to lose a staggering $330 million last year, twice the amount from the previous year, with an average reported loss of $1,000.
Consequently, 52% of Americans express concerns over AI's contribution to the accuracy and believability of online scams. To address these concerns, McAfee Scam Protection takes advantage of artificial intelligence to proactively identify and intercept scams.
By leveraging patented AI technology, the feature can immediately detect malicious links, thus eliminating any ambiguity when identifying genuine messages or notifications. Additionally, even if someone accidentally clicks on a malicious link, McAfee Scam Protection blocks the website from loading, mitigating potential harm.
"Cybercriminals have changed their tactics with the advent of AI. Obvious typos, poor graphics, or other glaring signs, which were once indicators of scams, have disappeared. Today's cybercriminals have harnessed artificial intelligence to enhance the accuracy, sophistication, and speed of their attacks, making it exceedingly challenging to differentiate between real and fake," stated Greg Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of McAfee.
McAfee Scam Protection embodies the most advanced blend of AI and human threat intelligence to proactively detect and prevent fake emails, text messages, and social media links. Its revolutionary scam protection technology provides individuals and families with new confidence, ensuring they can enjoy their online experiences without fear of falling victim to scams or cyber threats.
In an era where online scams pose constant risks, McAfee Scam Protection is a testament to the power of advanced AI technology in safeguarding users proactively. By equipping individuals with cutting-edge protection, McAfee empowers its users to browse the internet worry-free, knowing that their safety is prioritized.
With the launch of McAfee Scam Protection, a new era has begun – one where technology and innovation work hand in hand to safeguard online experiences. As cybercriminals become increasingly sophisticated, McAfee is at the forefront of AI-powered protection, ensuring people can confidently navigate the digital landscape.
