Mars Chocolate Drinks & Treats debuts Snickers Hi Protein Low Sugar bars, targeting the £151.7 million UK protein bar market. Simultaneously, Cadbury honors Father's Day with premium chocolate-coated nuts.
These newly launched bars retain the familiar flavors of Snickers, featuring peanut, nougat, and caramel, but in a low-sugar format. Snickers Hi Protein Low Sugar contains 217 calories, while its white variant contains 218 calories. Both bars provide a satisfying 20g serving of protein with just 2g of sugar.
Michelle Forest, the General Manager at Mars Chocolate Drinks & Treats, emphasized the untapped potential in the protein bar market. Despite recent launches, this market has seen limited growth in take-home penetration, hovering at an average of 5.1% over the past year. Forest believes leveraging the renowned Snickers brand can boost category penetration across major multiples and impulse channels.
Starting in November, both Snickers Hi Protein Low Sugar bars will be available at Asda, with wider availability through wholesale and convenience channels from August. They will retail at a recommended price of £2.79.
In a parallel development, Cadbury is honoring Father's Day by expanding its range of chocolate-coated nuts. Introducing the Cadbury Milk Chocolate Deluxe Almonds and Cadbury Milk Chocolate Deluxe Hazelnuts, the renowned chocolate maker aims to elevate the gifting experience. These whole roasted nuts in milk chocolate, adorned with cocoa powder coating, evoke cherished memories of heartwarming traditions associated with father figures.
Father's Day is a time for rituals, traditions, and heartfelt gestures, from the classic breakfast in bed to handwritten cards. The new Cadbury chocolate-coated nuts pay homage to these traditions, allowing families to celebrate the love and gratitude they hold for their father figures.
Cadbury Milk Chocolate Deluxe Almonds, Cadbury Milk Chocolate Deluxe Hazelnuts, and the wider range are readily available nationwide at renowned retailers, retailing at a recommended price of $10.
