Mariah Carey was recently accused of bringing unnecessary drama to the set of “The Voice” and one of the show’s current judges has come to her defense. Kelly Clarkson said that the “We Belong Together” wasn’t just professional during her mentoring stint on the show but also brought in a lot of valuable knowledge, USA Today reported.
“Honest to god, I know everyone thinks [Mariah Carey] was a diva and probably so awkward. I’ve been doing this show for three seasons. She honestly did her homework, knew the singers, knew the songs and gave solid advice. Everyone was floored. I was floored … She could have walked in and been a diva and we all would have still worked with that,” Kelly Clarkson said.
Indeed, judging by the clip recently released by “The Voice” this week, it was clear that the allegations against Mariah Carey hold no veracity. She was nothing but pleasant and accommodating during her mentoring stint, mingling with both judges and contestants with a cordial air.
But an article published by Radar Online last week claimed otherwise and said that Mariah Carey was an insufferable diva on the set. The tabloid said that a source told them exclusively that the iconic singer brought in a lot of toxicity behind the scenes, as well as wagged her expertise in front of the judges’ face.
The publication has since taken down the piece after another news outlet caught wind of the allegation and started debunking the tabloid’s claims. It can be recalled that Radar Online also wrote a hit piece against Mariah Carey, purporting that this season’s judges were “furious” that she was hired as an adviser by NBC.
However, that allegation proved to be false as well as Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton had nothing but positive comments about Maria Carey. What’s true regarding the “Touch My Body” singer is that she had a hard time mentoring in “The Voice” due to her choice of footwear.
