Custom PC maker Maingear and popular gaming peripheral company Razer collaborated to create the ultimate gaming PC available for the general market, and the result is the “Maingear R1 Razer Edition.” With a standard starting price of $999 for the basic model, this beast of a PC lineup is going the “Shock and Awe” route.
As a gaming PC boutique, Maingear has been the primary choice of many gamers to have their rigs built. As one of the most well-known providers of gaming peripherals and pre-built computers in the world, Razer is often the go-to shop for customers who want better performance from their mouse, keyboards, and overall gaming builds. The two brands collaborated to create a PC that looks as good as it performs and vice versa, Tech Spot reports, which resulted in the impressive “Maingear R1 Razer Edition.”
The basic version of the PC sports an “Asus H110M-A motherboard” and a 3.2GHz “i5-6500” CPU. It’s also equipped with one “GeForce GTX 1060,” 1TB HDD and 8GB of RAM. Sadly, this one doesn’t come with liquid cooling but a standard fan.
For those who are willing to pay the higher price tag, god-like performance is achievable. Take the $4,099 version, for example, which comes equipped with the “MSI X99A Raider” motherboard, a “ Core i7-6800K” processor, the “Epic 640” custom liquid cooling system by Maingear, a “GeForce GTX 1070” GPU, a 16GB “HyperX Fury DDR4” unit and 1TB of storage; but wait, there’s more.
The R1 can come with specs like the 10-core i7 processor, two GeForce Titan X that sports 12GB of memory each, and 128GB of RAM, Engadget reports. In case it needs to be said, getting an “R1” with those kinds of specs is going to do some major damage to the financial stability of a customer. It might be cheaper just to buy a car.
