Lee Min Ho was only discharged from the army on April 25, but he already signed up for a new project. It was confirmed that he agreed for the lead role in “The King: The Eternal Monarch” and he is getting ready for this project that will reunite him with scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook.
According to Chosun Ilbo, the drama is set to be produced by Hwa & Dam Pictures, and the production company is excited for this reunion project of Eun Sook, and Min Ho who had worked together in the 2013 hit teenage series, “The Heirs.” The writer is popular, and she penned many other mega-hit dramas that include “Descendants of the Sun.”
Filming for “The King: The Eternal Monarch” will begin later this year, and with just a few months left before work begins, Lee Min Ho is taking some time off to enjoy his break after serving in the army for almost two years. Fans can see that the actor is having a great time in Spain as he regularly shares what he is up to during his trip.
Min Ho knows that once filming starts, there will be no time to rest, so he is doing everything now before he gets too busy with work. It can be assumed that Bae Suzy’s ex will focus on the script after his vacation since there is a lot to study for his dual role. Yes, his role involves acting as two different characters which is challenging.
South China Morning Post shared that Min Ho’s dual roles in “The King: The Eternal Monarch” will show how things were in the past Korean era and in the present day. In the old times, the actor will play Emperor Lee Gon, and in the present world, he is Jung Tae Eul, a detective. Overall, the drama will present a narrative about two worlds by applying the parallel scheme of storytelling.
Lee Min Ho’s upcoming fantasy is set to premiere on the first half of 2020.
