“Kingdom Hearts” titles are only being released recently on the Xbox One platform, and a reported leak suggests that console is getting “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” as soon as next week. Another interesting aspect of this update is that the leaked information appeared to have come from no less than Microsoft.
‘Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue’ leaks: Xbox One launch set next week?
The release of “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” has been in the works for some time now, but Square Enix and Microsoft have yet to announced its specific release date. It now appears that the situation has changed following a reported leak.
Gematsu was the first to report on the listing of “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” on the Microsoft online store. For some reason, though, the link to the same product page is already showing an error message suggesting that Microsoft has since removed the game bundle online. The same report indicated that the game was listed for a Feb. 18 release date.
“Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” was originally released in 2017, but only exclusive on PlayStation 4 -- the common case for other “Kingdom Hearts” installments. As the title suggests, it is a bundle of remastered “Kingdom Hearts” game, including “Dream Drop Distance,” “Birth by Sleep -- A Fragmentary Passage," and "Back Cover."
Bringing the “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue’s” Xbox One was mentioned by game director Tetsuya Nomura back in 2017. The plan actually materialized last year when the game collection was announced to be released in 2020 on Xbox One along with other “Kingdom Hearts” remaster bundles.
‘Kingdom Hearts: ReMind’ release date: When is it arriving on Xbox One?
“Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” is not the only game anticipated to launch on Xbox One this month. “Kingdom Hearts 3” DLC “ReMind” is also slated to go live for the Microsoft-made console in a delayed-release.
The “Kingdom Hearts 3” DLC went live on PlayStation 4 last Jan. 23. Xbox One players will finally access the expansion on Feb. 25.
