Yozora’s introduction is one of the assurances fans have that there will be “Kingdom Hearts 4” sometime in the future. His debut also left many unanswered questions including the possibility that he is destined to wield his own Keyblade.
‘Kingdom Hearts 4’ spoilers: Next game could feature a new major character
The new character had been in the third main series game from the beginning, but his role was not made more apparent until the release of the DLC “Re:Mind” earlier this year. One of the final battle scenes featured Yozora and Sora, but it did not really give any clear answers on where these characters are heading in “Kingdom Hearts 4.”
One striking scene may have made an impression on many fans, and that was when Yozora snatched Sora’s Keyblade in “Re:Mind.” It can be recalled that Riku was the only character to have ever done that in the entire series. For a while, Riku used Sora’s Kingdom Key. But Riku also wielded his own weapon, the Way to the Dawn Keyblade. That has been one of the reasons some fans believe Yozora would be wielding his own Keyblade in “Kingdom Hearts 4.”
Characters who wield Keyblade mostly have important roles in the entire series. Seeing how the “Re:Mind” DLC had built up Yozora, it would not be surprising if he is on the same level as other Keyblade wielders. There are also suggestions that Yozora’s ability to snatch Sora’s Keyblade may have only been made possible by some advanced technology. While Yozora’s existence in the game is still surrounded with many mysteries, and could be from a different timeline as Sora. That makes the foreign technology quite a believable theory for “Kingdom Hearts 4.”
‘Kingdom Hearts 4’ release date might be later than Disney+ CGI series
The possibilities for “Kingdom Hearts 4” plot-wise are exciting, but the downside is that fans will have to wait another long period before seeing the next game. Square Enix previously hinted at not having plans to release more DLCs for the third title, but the developer has yet to confirm if work on the next main title has started.
Square Enix has also been reportedly attached in making the pilot of a potential CG-animated TV series based on the “Kingdom Hearts” tale for the Disney+ streaming platform. This could be an early hint that, if the project pushed through, the rumored show could premiere before “Kingdom Hearts 4” does.
