Kawhi Leonard is proving to be the best decision that the Toronto Raptors made in recent years as the talented forward continues to have a considerable impact on and off the court. Right now, the Raptors is at an impressive 11-1 standing and is looking to be a championship contender in the Playoffs, The Daily Express reported.
While this claim is too early to hold any significant merit, shades of it can already be seen among the team. Apart from Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry has also been performing at a spectacular rate although this isn’t necessarily glaring.
The 32-year old guard seems to have transformed his game into a brilliant facilitator thanks to the addition of Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, both of which are deadly three-point shooters. And with Pascal Siakam, Jonas Valanciunas, and Serge Ibaka operating beneath the rim, the Golden State Warriors seems to be looking at a new rival in the east.
NBA expert Tas Melas agrees. The pundit said that because of the versatile playstyle of Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, it takes off some pressure on the defenders and allow them to make shots of their own. Indeed, Siakam and Ibaka got 21 points and 14 points respectively by the end of their match against the Sacramento Kings while still remaining a defensive threat within the paint.
The Raptors’ latest game once again featured the versatility of the Raptors and the brilliance of Kawhi Leonard. Although the ex-Spurs superstar hasn’t scored in the first quarter, he still managed to provide his team with 25 points and 11 rebounds by the end of the game.
Kawhi Leonard got his first bucket at the half part of the second quarter via a three-point shot. After that, the forward slowly heated up while maintaining his ferocious tenacity on the defensive end, which ultimately helped in winning them the game.
As the Raptor’s wins continue to pile up, experts are now questioning if Kawhi Leonard will indeed transfer to another team. After all, it would be difficult to leave an organization that is not only winning but is also have your best interest at heart. Add the fact that they’re looking to actually challenge the juggernaut that is the Golden State Warriors and this speculation might very well be a reality.
