Reports that Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are officially an item started to come out about five years ago. While they still do not speak publicly about their relationship, there have been more instances recently where they were seen together out on a date. And one of the reasons for their super secretive dating life in the previous years could reportedly be linked to Holmes’ 2012 divorce settlement with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
It can be recalled that Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise after more than five years of being married. It was later regarded as one of the quickest divorce proceedings among Hollywood ex-couples. After just 11 days, their attorneys confirmed that Holmes and Cruise have reached an agreement to finalize their divorce.
InStyle recently reported on Holmes and Cruise’s 2012 breakup. Rumors claimed that part of their settlement was that Holmes cannot go on dates publicly for the next five years following the divorce, the magazine recalled.
Fans of Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx may also remember that rumors that they are dating go way back to 2013. But Foxx later denied these claims and told Entertainment Tonight that those were “one hundred percent not true.”
Dating rumors would once again hound Holmes and Foxx in 2015 and in the following years. But it was only in September 2017 that a clear photo of them together was published. It was the first time they were seen together, walking hand in hand in Malibu.
The next public sighting happened last January, when Holmes and Foxx attended Clive Davis's pre-Grammys gala together. But the two still refused to publicly comment on their relationship.
Unfortunately, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx were immediately hit with breakup rumors just months after their relationship was confirmed. But the purported split due to “trust issues” was later dismissed by Holmes’s spokesperson. And just last month, Foxx was seen exiting Holmes’s apartment building in New York, a clear hint that things are working out well for the couple.
