“Jessica Jones” Season 3 is expected to be an action-packed entry as the showrunners want the series to have a memorable ending. It’s already been announced that the third installment will be the show’s last run.
At the moment, it’s still unclear why Netflix decided to end the superhero drama although there are two speculations surrounding this narrative. First, the series is apparently not that popular among audiences and viewer count has been declining for a while, Screen Rant reported.
Second, Netflix is likely trying to avoid the complication of creating a series based on a character that they don’t own the legal rights to. Add the fact that Disney is launching its own streaming service this year and it’s understandable that Netflix stopped at “Jessica Jones” Season 3.
As for the plot, showrunners are keeping everything under wraps. However, based on the previous installment’s finale, the conflict between JJ (Krysten Ritter) and Trish (Rachael Taylor) will likely take center stage. Vengeance will be the theme of “Jessica Jones” Season 3 as JJ will be avenging her mother after Trish killed her.
What’s more, the possibility of Trish transforming to Hellcat is also another plot speculation by the series’ fan base. If so, then the previous tweet of show creator Melissa Rosenberg that “Jessica Jones” Season 3 will “be going out with a bang” will certainly take place.
Another character that fans want to see in the third entry is David Tennant’s Kilgrave. While it’s still unconfirmed that the Purple Man will make his way back in “Jessica Jones” Season 3, Rosenberg has hinted that this may be the case.
When a fan posted a sad farewell to the villain, Rosenberg replied “Not quite yet,” implying that there’s still hope for Kilgrave’s return. As for when fans can expect “Jessica Jones” Season 3, it’s being speculated that it may arrive sometime between summer and fall this year. Hopefully, Rosenberg and the rest of the cast delivers a satisfying conclusion for JJ as opposed to what happened to “Luke Cage” that ended up getting canceled following a big cliffhanger.
