Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to high-profile romances, but some relationships are just easier to maintain than others. In the latest issue of InStyle magazine, “On the Floor” singer talked about her how dating her current boyfriend, former professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez, is better than dating her ex Ben Affleck.
“It was actually worse then,” Jennifer said of her relationship with the “Justice League” star. “It was just crazy. Now at least I can show you who I am a little bit. Back then you just believed anything you read on the cover of a tabloid. Many times it wasn’t true, or it was like a third of the truth.”
Well, her time with Alex Rodriguez is clearly much better and Jennifer Lopez has even noted that social media has strengthened their relationship because she no longer has to worry about seeing the two of them becoming the cover story of a tabloid magazine. “Now people get to see that this guy they thought was this hard-nosed athlete is, like, a goofy dad who loves his kids and celebrates his girlfriend,” the “Maid in Manhattan” actress explained.
Of course, maturity has played a role as well in their relationship. “When we met, we’d both already done a lot of work on ourselves,” Jennifer stated.
True enough, Alex has had to deal with a lot of controversies during his time playing baseball and he was even suspended for the entire 2014 MLB season after he violated the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy. Despite all that, the A-Rod managed to redeem himself. Jennifer has seen her fair share of controversy as well since her personal life has been tabloid fodder for decades now.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez look great together. And it seems the adversities they faced over the years have actually strengthened their relationship.
