“Jane The Virgin” season 5 is surely on its way now to the small screen and fans should brace for revelations and plot twists. The CW is bringing back the beloved show and it would be an exciting return since season 4 concluded with many loose ends.

EconoTimes mentioned that “Jane the Virgin” season 5 will be the last and this was confirmed by the show’s executive producer, Brad Silberling. For the last season, there will be 19 episodes in all to complete the 100 episodes for the show’s full run from season 1 to 5.
"Yes, we are heading into the final season. It is a wonderful final season of the show,” Silberling said. He added that they really planned it to end with the fifth season, saying, “It is exactly as it was laid out."
New Director
For “Jane the Virgin” season 5, it was revealed that lead star Gina Rodriguez (Jane Villanueva) will be directing an episode. Earlier this year, the petite actress said that her directing job is the "the most incredible experience" so she wants to do more of it in the final season.
What to Expect
One of the things to look out for in “Jane the Virgin” season 5 is the narrator. It is said that he will finally be identified on the show. Cosmopolitan reported that creator Jennie Snyder Urman confirmed that before the show bids goodbye, the viewers will find out who he really is.
Air Date
“Jane the Virgin” season 5 may have a new premiere date. The show always premieres in October but this time, it is said that it will arrive in January 2019.
Meanwhile, The Los Angeles Times reported that “Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez is now engaged to her boyfriend, Joe LoCicero. The two met on the set when the latter played as a stripper in 2016.
