The fifth and final season of “Jane the Virgin” already has its release date on The CW. But many fans around the world can only officially access the series through Netflix’s streaming service.
The premiere of “Jane the Virgin” season 5 is not due until Wednesday, March 27, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. So it is understandable if its Netflix schedule is not clear at the moment. However, considering that the show is part of a deal between the network and streaming platform, fans can hope that the previous release format will be applied this year as well.
So as not to be in conflict with the show’s release on The CW, viewers in the United States cannot expect “Jane the Virgin” season 5 to stream on Netflix until the final episode has aired. But fans outside the U.S. might have a different experience.
What’s on Netflix recalled that subscribers outside the U.S. were able to watch new episodes of previous seasons a day after it aired on The CW. So if “Jane the Virgin” season 5 episodes are out on Wednesday in the U.S., they are likely going to be available within or after 24 hours or Thursday for the United Kingdom- and Australia-based subscribers depending on their time zone.
As mentioned, The CW and Netflix have yet to announce the official streaming schedule for “Jane the Virgin” season 5. Fans will know for sure in the coming month and weeks and until they see a “New Episodes Weekly” on the “Jane the Virgin” title card on Netflix.
Meanwhile, the same news source noted that Netflix users in the United States are likely getting the full episode list of “Jane the Virgin” season 5 a few weeks after the finale airs on The CW. The reported episode count for the final installment is 19.
Presuming that there will not be any breaks through the course of “Jane the Virgin” season 5, the finale might air on July 31. Netflix users in the United States may expect to binge watch the show sometime in late August or early July.
