Jamie Dornan became a household name when she starred in the “Fifty Shades” movie opposite Dakota Johnson. It cannot be denied that his steamy scenes with the 29-year-old actress propelled him to the popularity that made him a global star. Needless to say, people know him as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson also comes up whenever his name is mentioned.
Now, the “Fifty Shades” trilogy movie is over and Jamie Dornan has been doing lots of new projects these days. Aside from being included in the “Trolls World Tour” movie, he has been cast in BBC’s “Death And Nightingales” as well.
Jamie Dornan is happy to be doing this historical Irish drama mini-series because it allows him to work in his native country, in Northern Ireland. He admitted that he rarely comes home now so his new drama is such a great excuse to return to where he grew up.
“I’m quite rubbish about coming home unless I have to work, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been back here since finishing “The Fall” series three, so it’s been brilliant and seeing parts of the country that I didn’t know existed, he said via BBC’s press release.
Jamie Dornan went on to say, “The weather has been glorious the entire time and I love the light here, it stays light until 11 p.m. It helps you to finish your days and it's good for your soul.”
Incidentally, “Death And Nightingales” has sex scenes as well and Jamie Dornan said that although this is the type of scene that is hard to film, the steamy moments in this Irish historical drama is still much tamer compared to what he and Dakota Johnson did in “Fifty Shades.”
“It’s hard to answer that question seriously. Sex scenes happen on a lot of jobs. They’re never easy,” he said when asked about the intimate scenes.
“Death And Nightingales” is a TV drama adaption of Eugene McCabe’s novel that tells the story of love and betrayal. It is set in 1885 and Jamie Dornan plays Liam Ward, a man who tempted a 23-year-old woman and swept her away from her domineering father. It debuted on Nov. 28 on BBC.
