Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have since moved on from the shadow that is the “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise. Although the films garnered over $1 billion in box office tickets, the two stars aren’t particularly keen on reprising their roles, more so for Dornan.
“For me, it’s just a job. But it is mad because it has different attention to it. I might never do something under so much scrutiny again,” Jamie Dornan said. Dakota Johnson, on the other hand, said that it was “emotionally taxing” to do the scenes portrayed in the movie. She added that she does a lot of “psychological preparation” before filming a scene as it was quite jarring for the actress.
However, Dakota Johnson did say that she’s thankful to have been able to play Anastasia as it helped boost her career. Indeed, similar to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Johnson’s career skyrocketed to stardom when “Fifty Shades of Grey” hit the theatres. That goes for Jamie Dornan as well.
Now, both celebrities are enjoying their A-list status and have since taken other projects to showcase their acting chops. Dakota Johnson is set to star in the movie “The Peanut Butter Falcon” alongside Shia LaBeouf and John Bernthal. Meanwhile, Jamie Dornan’s is involved in several upcoming projects in 2019 although details about them have yet to be revealed with one only being rumored at the moment.
The two stars have come a long way from playing Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) with their future in the industry bright as their performances. On the personal side of things, Dornan said that her relationship with Johnson is purely platonic.
The “Robin Hood” actor explained that during the times that they’ve known each other and throughout the course of the trilogy’s production, both of them was in a respective relationship. Jamie Dornan is married, while Dakota Johnson was with Mathew Hitt at the time. The actress has since separated with Hitt and is now dating Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin.
