“Jack Ryan” season 2 is almost like a series reset with the titular protagonist, played by John Krasinski, moving on to an all-new storyline and relocating its main filming locations to a completely different continent. And with a new base comes a new lineup of characters, including the one to be portrayed by Michael Kelly.
Known for his character Doug Stamper (a.k.a. the most loyal errand boy of fictional Washington, D.C.), Kelly joins the cast of “Jack Ryan” season 2 to play the role of CIA field officer Mike November. Not much has been revealed about Mike except being described as a “smart, seasoned” agent.
Presumably, Kelly is the main welcoming party to guide Jack and Greer (Wendell Pierce) on the new base of their operations in South America. The trio will be focused on working against a “dangerous, declining regime” in the continent in “Jack Ryan” season 2.
Other plot details for “Jack Ryan” season 2 are still under wraps. But based on the confirmed incoming cast members, Jack’s next operation will be centered on a South American leader named Nicolas Reyes (Jordi Molla).
Amazon has yet to announce a release date for “Jack Ryan” season 2. But the fate of the second installment has been pretty much sealed long before the first season was out.
The rookie series, based on Tom Clancy’s same title franchise, premiered at the end of August 2018. But Amazon had already confirmed the production of “Jack Ryan” season 2 as early as April of the same year. It was also reported that filming for the second season commenced last summer.
Following this timeline, “Jack Ryan” season 2 is expected to premiere later this year with the first official trailer to be possibly released sometime in summer. Aside from Kelly and Molla, actors Noomi Rapace, Jovan Adepo, Cristina Umaña, and Francisco Denis were also confirmed to play new characters while John Hoogenakker will reprise his role as the Black Ops operative named Matice.
