Italian industrial sales and orders indices rise sequentially in September

Italian industrial sales rose sequentially in September. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the turnover index rose 2 percent. For the domestic market the index rose 0.4 percent, whereas it fell 0.3 percent in the non-domestic market. In the third quarter, the industrial turnover index dropped 0.7 percent quarter-on-quarter.

On a year-on-year basis, the calendar adjusted industrial turnover index dropped 6 percent. In the domestic market, the index dropped 1.5 percent and fell 2 percent in the non-domestic market. The unadjusted industrial new orders index rose 3 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, seasonally adjusted industrial new orders index rose 0 percent month-on-month. For the domestic market, the index was up 0.7 percent and up 1.5 percent in non-domestic market. For the third quarter as a whole, the index dropped 1.7 percent quarter-on-quarter.

For the manufacturing sector, the seasonally adjusted volume turnover index rose 0.1 percent sequentially. For the third quarter, it dropped 0.9 percent quarter-on-quarter, whereas it fell 1.8 percent year-on-year.
