DENVER, Oct. 14, 2016 -- Industrial Property Trust Inc. (“IPT”), an industrial real estate investment trust that owns and operates distribution warehouses throughout the United States, announced today that, during the third quarter of 2016, it had acquired, either directly or through its 20% ownership interest in a joint venture partnership, 18 industrial buildings totaling 3.9 million square feet, located in 10 markets throughout the United States, for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $280.7 million.
IPT completed four transactions in July 2016, including six industrial buildings comprising 2.6 million square feet for a total of approximately $155.1 million. These buildings are located in the Atlanta, Dallas, Memphis, New Jersey, and Southern California markets.
In August 2016, IPT completed three transactions, including seven industrial buildings in the Baltimore / DC, Dallas, Portland, and Seattle / Tacoma markets, comprising approximately 0.9 million square feet for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $81.7 million.
In September 2016, IPT completed four transactions, including five industrial buildings aggregating 0.5 million square feet in the Southern California, South Florida, and Pennsylvania markets for a combined purchase price of approximately $43.9 million.

From January 2014 through September 2016, IPT had acquired, either directly or through its 20% ownership interest in a joint venture partnership, 236 industrial buildings totaling 38.3 million square feet in 27 markets throughout the U.S. for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $2.8 billion. Of these buildings, IPT owned and managed 24 industrial buildings totaling approximately 4.3 million square feet through its 20.0% ownership interest in a joint venture partnership.
