Huawei Watch 2, the Chinese mobile company’s second-generation wearable, is now finally available for retail in the United States. The Verge said the smartwatch, which both works on iOS and Android, can now be purchased on Amazon, Best Buy, and other accredited retailers starting at USD300. The black and gray variants retail at USD299.99 each, while the Huawei Watch 2 Classic will be released soon at USD369.99.
Fans who will purchase the Huawei Watch 2 will have 10 free weeks of Google Play Music for free for a limited time only. Endgadget said that the freebie is a good one, considering the fact that the smartwatch can be connected with your Bluetooth earphones:
“A Play Music subscription can get you accustomed to the idea of listening to music straight from your smartwatch instead of from your phone while jogging or commuting. You can even download songs on its 4GB onboard memory instead of streaming them if you frequent places with poor signal.”
The Huawei Watch 2 has been retrofitted for people who are into fitness. The smartwatch comes with GPS, always-on heart rate, Android Pay capability, and a larger than usual battery. CNET said the battery can make the smartwatch last up to 25 days on standby plus step tracking mode. The smartwatch is also equipped with the much-hyped Android Wear 2.0. Although the US version of Huawei Watch 2 doesn’t have the cellular connectivity, users can utilize the onboard speaker for mobile phone-connected calls.
