“House of Cards” season 6 is the final season and the ultimate challenge to how Claire (Robin Wright) will uphold the Underwood legacy in the White House. However, it is starting to look like finding true allies will be a tricky task for Claire — she does not seem to get along with both the enemies and friends of Frank (Kevin Spacey).
One of the most likely adversaries of Claire in “House of Cards” season 6 is Doug (Michael Kelly). Though he has been extremely loyal to the Underwoods, even taking the fall for the murder of Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara), Claire is not eager to continue working with Doug.
With Frank dead in “House of Cards” season 6, Claire has even fewer reasons to pardon Doug. While Doug says in one of the trailers that he is most afraid of Claire, it might only be a matter of time before he figures out a way to make use of all the dirt he has on the new president.
Speaking of adversaries, Hammerschmidt (Boris McGiver) has been one of the most persistent characters to prove how dirty a politician Frank was. But with Frank’s death happening in “House of Cards” season 6, it is interesting to see if Hammerschmidt will still find enough motivation to continue his investigation. And if he does, how will it affect Claire’s presidential term?
Frank is one of the most devious TV show politicians ever written and that also means he knows what alliances he should keep — just like the Shepherd family. The influential siblings will appear in “House of Cards” season 6 to collect whatever Frank promised them.
Claire will try hard to separate her presidency from Frank’s, which might explain why she is initially hesitant to work with the Shepherds. But, knowing Claire, she will most likely come around and see the benefit of being on the good side of the Shepherds.
