- Hong Kong's GDP figures, also released on Wednesday, showed that GDP grew by 0.4% q/q in Q4 in seasonally-adjusted terms, down from 1.4% in Q3.
- The most striking feature in the breakdown is the weakness in exports, which grew 0.3% y/y in Q4, the slowest pace since Q2 2012.
- While we are not expecting a pick-up in global growth this year, we do expect Hong Kong's exports to strengthen after underperforming through 2014. Accordingly, we forecast GDP growth to rebound in 2015.
